Crisis Intervention Teams for Youth
Crisis Intervention Teams for Youth (CIT-Y) is a community-based strategy for improving interactions between law enforcement and youth experiencing behavioral health crises.
Standard CIT training focuses primarily on response techniques for adults. While there are some general similarities between adults and youth, there are important and unique distinctions that require specialized knowledge and training. CIT-Y trains law enforcement officers on response techniques that are appropriate for youth.
The National Youth Screening & Assessment Partners now offers the CIT-Y as a 3-day train-the-training training or a 1-day direct practice training. Contact them for additional information.
