Policy Research Associates, Inc. was named the #1 small employer Top Workplace by the Times Union. This is such an honor in the same year when we celebrate our 25th anniversary. To go from five employees to 49 and have folks working here who feel that they work in a supportive and positive environment is quite an accomplishment. It’s one of the reasons I love to come to work every day.
And the other folks who work here appreciate it too according to some of the quotes from current employees in the newspaper article:
“I love working in an environment where everyone holds themselves and their work to a high standard.”
“I feel appreciated and valued for the work I do. We are a true team — everyone pitches in. Maintaining a healthy work/life balance is truly valued and encouraged.”
“I have autonomy, respect, and feel our work is appreciated both within the company and outside, throughout the U.S.”
“We work all over the country, assisting organizations who are working with people many have ‘written off.’ We help them do their jobs better, which is incredibly rewarding.”
In the Top Workplace survey process, companies are nominated by at least one employee (there were 566 companies nominated) and then 72 completed the process. The process included employees responding to questions about their workplace and companies were ranked within three size categories. Twenty five small businesses (35 to 149 employees) were chosen as Top workplaces and PRA was number 1!
Additionally, our president Hank Steadman was chosen as one of the three Top CEOs based on survey results. As he aptly stated, “The ability we have to make real differences in the lives of thousands, if not tens of thousands, of people who are some of the most disadvantaged people in the U.S. from our little office in downtown Delmar” inspires our work.
