On April 5th of 2016 I had the privilege to attend a How Being Trauma-Informed Improves Criminal Justice Responses Train-the-Trainer event for my professional development. PRA’s Professional Development benefit allows employees to attend one training or conference each year to enhance their work.
As the person who works across projects assisting in material prep for meetings and trainings, this was a treat. Attending the training was extremely enlightening and really put the pieces together for me as to how important the training binder is. I had a few “aha” moments as we proceeded through the training process about how the training materials fit into the training. I’ve put a great deal of these binders together through the years, and it was great to see it all come together.
The training was led by Chan and Lisa C. They both have exceptional knowledge, and I would encourage PRA staff to attend one of these trainings if given the chance. My next goal is a fee-for-service training when the opportunity presents itself. I’ve put many of these together as well, and would love to see how the materials and training all fit together. I am proud to be a part of the process and the good work that PRA is doing for communities across the states.
